January Favorite

It's time to post my January favorite photo for Courtney and Click It Up a Notch's "I Clicked it Up a Notch in January Contest." This month I decided to get back to basics and start paying more attention to the light. I was playing with my daughter in her room and really paying attention to where the light was in the room as I took photos. I knew I got some good shots but didn't notice this shot until I got it on the computer. I love the way the light is hitting her face and the eye contact between her and Elmo really tells a story! The rest of the story is that she had been wearing that night gown for a week straight...everywhere!

Water

The last day of our Christmas Kauai vacation, I went to the beach at sunrise. I wanted to stay forever. Knowing that was impossible, I took my camera with me in an attempt to capture the beauty and peacefulness and take it home with me. At the time I felt like the attempt was futile; really nothing can compare to the moment. But today, as I processed those photos, I discovered a glimmer of the beauty I was trying to bottle. I found several treasures and since I couldn't pick a favorite, I decided to post them all. Do you have a favorite? Do you find them beautiful or boring?

Top 11 Photos from 2011

This was an amazing year for my photography growth. I learned so much and know my technique, eye, composition and confidence have improved immensely. I owe it all to my 365 (compelling me to pick up my camera every day) and the many teachers along the way.

Here are my picks for the Top 11 photos of my girls from 2011! It was tremendously hard to narrow it down to only 11 so I actually picked 12.

Beach Fun

I got the chance to take some photos for a family I dearly love. I consider them some of our closest friends. They are so much fun and their photos show it! Here are a few of my favorites:

Happy Home for the Holidays

These are some of my closests friends. They were going to re-use a photo for their Christmas card and I said "Absolutely Not!" They will be moving soon so we took the opportunity to shoot photos in their home before they leave. Can I just say...AMAZING! Love you guys!
