I'm playing along with Click It Up a Notch's June favorites. I took my June favorite at an evening beach bonfire with my daughter's 5th grade class. There was such a feeling of togetherness with the children and all the families. I just happened to look up and saw this photo unfolding. Because the light was so wonderful all my settings were just right to capture this moment of friendship.

May Favorite
This month I feel like I really "Clicked it up a Notch!" I took two workshops. First was Emma Wood's breakout session from Clickin Moms and the second was an in person, weekend-long Loupe Photography Workshop by the incredible Kristianne Koch (www.kristiannekochphotography.com). After both workshops I was better able to see the light and my composition improved. One evening, I was standing folding laundry and my littlest daughter walked in. She was wearing a dress-up and stood in the most amazing golden light. I saw the opportunity and seized it. This was the resulting photo of my "Tiniest Dancer."
This was a second photo that I just couldn't resist posting as a companion photo.

April Favorite
This month was not my most inspired. Not only were we busy with Easter and Spring Break, but also I got the stomach flu that knocked me out for several days. The photo I'm picking for my favorite is imperfectly perfect. I took my daughter to the beach to play; she played in the sand and I played with my camera. For some pictures she was willing, for others she was not. This photo captured her unwillingness. It was shadowy and a bit grainy so I processed it with clickin mom's film preset Nickel. While I loved the color version because of the beautiful beach colors, I prefer the black and white because it focuses on her face and her crazy striped outfit. The whole photo seems timeless to me. It almost could have been a photo taken in my grandparents' time.

The Details of Dancing Feet
At a recent family birthday party, I found beautiful light and got an extraordinary photo of my children, nieces and nephews. After the perfection, came the sweet dancing feet in golden streams of sunlight. This photo has childhood written all over it!
Today, I'm linking up with Darcy's Life with my 3 Boybarians and her project 52. The theme for the week is Details.
March Favorite
I'm joining Courtney at Click It Up a Notch's monthly favorite. I had a few favorites so it was a tough choice. I finally decided on the following photo of my kids and nieces and nephews. I took it at a birthday celebration. I went to the car to get something and saw this beautiful light coming into the front yard. I ran in and grabbed all the kids. It was if the angels sang and all the elements of good photography and happy subjects came together. I got beautiful back lighting with catch lights from the reflection off the concrete. And...to top it all off...everyone (even the baby) was smiling!

More Easy Breezy
My daughters liked the photos I took of their friend last week so much that they begged me to take photos of them at the beach. I couldn't resist processing them with Kristianne's Easy Breezy presets (http://kristiannekochphotography.com/blog/2012/03/processing-a-vision/). Just lovely!

Easy Breezy for Sweet Shot Tuesday
I finally have a sweet shot for Sweet Shot Tuesday! This is my friend's daughter and she was a dream to photograph. Unlike my own children, she followed directions! I just love this photo of her! And I used Kristianne Koch's Easy Breezy Lightroom preset (http://kristiannekochphotography.com/blog/2012/03/processing-a-vision/ ) to process them.
The top photo is my Sweet Shot Tuesday entry at
, but I also had to show this one off!
